About Us
The Wendover Pre-school is the longest established pre-school in Wendover, first opening in September 1969.
We are a non-profit making body and enjoy charitable status. We are members of the Pre-school Learning Alliance, a national organisation formed to support groups that cater for the under fives.
The facilities we offer are excellent, and we have a variety of equipment with which your child can extend their knowledge, experience and cultural awareness. Since September 2007 and after much fundraising we are proud to have been able to offer a safe outside play area. This play area has been enhanced in 2009 with a grant received from Bucks County Council which has enabled us to lay 'spongy tarmac'. We welcome parents' participation in their child’s education and the running of the Pre-school.
Pre-school children learn through play and we make sure that we create a happy, stimulating and friendly atmosphere for your child where they can develop their physical, emotional and social skills which are the building blocks to the Early Years Foundation Stage Targets and prepares children for a smooth transition to full time education.
We also organise a number of extra activities (paid for from fundraising) such as Crescendo Kids aimed at improving coordination, concentration and energy levels, as well as fun-filled charity and fundraising events and special celebrations. Our aim is to develop the child’s potential to the full allowing them to develop at their own pace and ensuring that they are able to mix socially with others in a confident manner and by so doing prepare for a smooth transition to the school environment.
